Treatment Assistant at Social Administration Sydväst

Social Administration Sydväst is one of four social administrations in the City of Gothenburg with around 900 employees. In the urban area of Sydväst, approximately 120,000 residents live, and the area stretches from Billdal to Högsbohöjd and to the southern archipelago. The administration's mission is to ensure that children, young people, and adults can live a safe and independent life and that children and young people have a rich leisure time. The administration also works to support homeless individuals to find permanent housing. Through collaboration with civil society, local businesses, and other actors, we aim to improve public health and safety in the area.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Are you our new colleague? During the summer of 2025, you who have an ongoing university education or a completed education as a social worker/social pedagogue/YH-education as a treatment pedagogue or other behavioral science education deemed equivalent by the employer will have the opportunity to work as a treatment assistant in one of our interesting and educational activities.

The work also requires the ability to be independent, and you need to be able to plan, implement, complete, and follow up. As a treatment assistant, you will be part of a team and work with practical tasks to maintain daily structure, but also with individualized support, which means that the support the individual living with us needs can vary greatly. Therefore, you must have the ability to build relationships, be flexible, and quickly adapt depending on what the situation requires. Sometimes you will have a controlling function, so you need to be able to set boundaries in a respectful manner.

You will need to contact partners, and a good ability to collaborate is therefore a requirement. We document our work in a digital support system called Treserva, and you need to be able to manage writing daily notes in a legally secure and respectful manner. Social documentation is one of the administrative tasks that occur.

As an applicant, you have a non-confrontational approach and a very good ability to collaborate. You will work independently as well as in a group. You need to be confident in meeting angry and frustrated individuals, making your own assessments, and acting appropriately in various and sometimes acute situations. In many of our activities, we work with individuals in active addiction and/or with some form of social/mental issues. In other words, you have good knowledge, skills, and experience in meeting people in vulnerable life situations.

Quality and change work are important in our operations. Therefore, we would like you to be interested in development work and in driving issues that benefit our clients. The position includes participating and being active in workplace meetings, supervision, and team activities. Working hours are weekdays and weekends during the day and evening, and in some cases, on-call according to a rotating schedule.

Each workplace is unique, and your experience, wishes, and the needs of the operations will determine which of these exciting workplaces you will be placed in during the summer.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a clear or ongoing university education as a social worker/social pedagogue or another behavioral science education deemed equivalent by the employer. To communicate with users and colleagues, you need to have a good command of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. Approved grades in Swedish A or SAS basic should be able to be presented if needed. - Requirement

A driver's license and being comfortable driving a car is a requirement, so you must be able to present a valid driver's license.

Several of the operations require an extract from the criminal record. It is obtained from the police's website, and it is the one under HVB that is relevant for positions with us.

It is desirable that you have experience and/or theoretical knowledge of mental health issues and/or addiction.

Being able to express yourself well in speech and writing is also desirable as documentation is part of the work.

Knowledge and experience of MI and low-arousal approaches (LaB) are seen as meritorious as these methods are central to our work.
